Biography
Ghasem Rahimzadeh began his musical journey in 1990, studying the tanbur under his father, and later focused on the tar under the guidance of Mr. Arvin. In 2002, he entered the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Tehran, where he further refined his skills with renowned masters including Dariush Pirniakan, Houshang Zarif, Dariush Talaei, Majid Kiani, and Mohammad-Reza Lotfi. He studied classical instrumental and vocal radifs and advanced Shahnazi radifs, combining performance practice with in-depth theoretical knowledge.
He has also studied Iranian music theory under Mohammad-Reza Darvishi, Mohsen Hejariyan, and Homayoun Asadi, and classical music theory with Alireza Mashayekhi, Azin Mohahed, and Shahin Farhat.

Professional Experience
• Collaborations with prominent ensembles including Javan (Mohammad-Ali Kiani-Nejad), Shahnazi (Dariush Pirniakan), and Ardeshir Kamkar’s group
• Recordings and performances of Iranian classical music with leading musicians both in Iran and internationally
• Teaching tar and setar performance, ensemble playing, music theory, and improvisation at universities across Tehran, Kurdistan, Shiraz, Bandar Abbas, Zanjan, and more
• Conducting specialized workshops in Iranian classical music performance and improvisation

• Jury member for multiple editions of the National Young Musicians Festival, Simorgh Festival, and other national music competitions
